Welcome to the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, Delhi. We started our journey as the MIT college in the year 1989 and became a universitin y 2013 with an objective of imparting quality education. Over the past decades, we have grown our expertise and competence in core Mechanical Engineering curriculum and also in research. We have a strong undergraduate B.Tech. Program in Mechanical and Automation Engineering which was started with an intake of 60 in the year 2013 and subsequently was increased to 95 in the forthcoming years. However, In 2019 our department started a dual degree B.Tech plus M.B.A program with an intake of 30 students. The department aims to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem-solving skills, and enhance their employability skills and innovation of new technologies to provide service to society. Our goal is to provide students with a balance of intellectual and practical experiences that enable them to serve a variety of societal needs. I am sure in times to come many students from our department will make an indelible mark nationally and internationally in the field of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, The Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering believes in building career, enriching minds, and provides a remarkable experience that lasts a life time. We hold firm belief in our ability to succeed, and we nurture an attitude of self-reliance, confidence, commitment and responsibility to the motherland that we are to serve. I am confident that the students of the department would justify the credibility of the department by showing a high level of professional competence in their respective field.
